Pruning is probably one of those job you put off….surely it’s better to leave it be than chop the wrong thing off, right!?….think again! Pruning is actually necessary for the optimum health and yield of fruit trees and once you know what you’re doing it’s easy pea-sy (had to get a veg pun in there somewhere!)
If you’re not sure what pruning is or how to do it we’ll be pruning our Veg on the Edge fruit trees on Wednesday 19th February at 1pm meeting at the Baker Beds site (far end of Caroline Street). Come and join us to find out more about:
- How and when to prune fruit trees
- What tools to use and how to use them
- How to keep your tools sharp and clean….and why this is important!
You’re welcome to bring your own tools but we’ll have a supply too.
If you’re already a dab hand at pruning and just fancy helping us out then you’re more than welcome to join us too!
If you can’t make the date but are interested in joining our friendly and informal community food growing group we meet up regularly throughout the year. Find out more here
