Equality Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Veg on the Edge is open to all and we encourage everyone in the community to get involved.

Our public growing spaces and activities aim to promote community cohesion and bring together the diverse communities that live in our neighbourhood.

Our group and appointed officers encourage a diverse volunteer membership.

The design of our sites aim to provide a welcoming space for everyone. All topographical and physical constraints should be addressed as far as possible to ensure accessibility.

All events will be open to all ages and abilities and seek to reflect and celebrate the diversity of the local community.

Both the group officers and volunteer members will ensure they respect the needs of others and be open, friendly and welcoming.

We will not tolerate discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, being married or in a civil partnership, being pregnant or on maternity leave, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

Incidences of discrimination or harassment will be notified to the group officers, who will review and act to address the issues immediately.

This policy will be reviewed annually prior to the AGM, or more frequently if necessary.
